Running For President IRL

Recommended Posts

Today, I am filing with the Federal Election Commission, and running for President of the United States. I'm not 35, but they still register you as a candidate nontheless, and you're allowed to run. A candidate named John David Hale (ironically has my last name), got 1,000+ votes in the Libertarian Primary.

But here's the question i'm asking, should I run as a Republican, Constitution, Reform, Libertarian, or Independent?

You know many states already have had their ballot deadlines. All the other parties have a nominee, so if you really were going to run, Independent is the way to go. Now, you have to get a team together to get you on the ballot in a few states.

It's mostly a satirical thing. Didn't really want to get on the ballot.

I understand but it would be great to see if you'd get any votes anywhere.

Yeah, I did announce my candidacy, and got 16 votes in the GOP Primary, but I wasn't registered back then. I'll take your advice. I will set a goal of 100 votes!

I live in Ohio, I'll contact my Secretary of State, and see if I can get some other fringe candidates to endorse me!

Tennessee is the easiest state to get on the ballot in.

Yep. Good luck to you. Hope to see you in the debates if we both qualify somehow.

Tell me if you can find how to get on the ballot there. Not sure if it has to be physical signatures or online signatures,

Not talking about the REAL debates. Talking about the Fringe candidate/ Independent debates.

Indeed, I'll be there with with Jill Stein and Darrel Castle.

Damn it's much easier in the game. Just spend a couple CP's there, and boom.

Yep... Making a petition right now. Hopefully they take online petitions.

You don't need to file with them unless you plan on spending over $5000.

But if you don't file with them, you won't show up as an actual candidate. You also won't be able to get on the ballot.
