This is where i will do a custom 2000 election scenario and go all the way till 2012. And the story will arc. Which means that if John McCain wins the white house in 2000 he will be ommitted from the 2008 scenario....stay tuned.

BACKSTORY:

in June 1999 As the Bill Clinton Administration winds down, the Democratic Party leaders are in preparation to pass the torch off to Vice President Al gore. The party leaders were unconcerned with his sole Challenger, Democratic governor of New Mexico, Bill Richardson. Many inside of the government and a few of the party leaders are concerned about Al Gore's far left positions on the environment, and on other social issues worried that it may alienate more moderate Democrats. Seeking an alternative individuals within the party begin to court former general Wesley Clark and Senator John Kerry because of their less extreme position and their appeal to moderates. In July both of them made announcements that they were running for President. In August Senator Joe Biden threw his hat int he ring, and right as the primaries had gotten ready to begin, Senator Arlin Specter jumped into the race on September 22, 1999. The next day, governor Howard Dean threw his hat in the ring, the papers and many pundits predicted that it would be the most interesting Democratic primary to date.

Meanwhile on the other side of things the , the Republican party struggled to find people to run as well. with only two horses in the race two Moderate, Southern Republicans, John McCain and George W Bush, many conservatives were dissatisfied with these candidates and seeked out alternatives. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger of California wished to run but was constitutionally ineligible. The Republicans holding a majority in both houses got Democratic cooperation to amend the constitution to allow him to run. And on December 31st 1998 after the Republican party widened their majorities int he senate and house , they did amend the constitution and less than a month later Schwarzenegger jumped into the race. A surprise came when the Elderly former Senator from Minnesota Harold Stassen announced his candidacy for the presidency appealing to the progressive wing of the republican party. While the Liberatarian wing of the party asked Representative Ron Paul of Texas to run. In opposition to the more conservative Arnold Schwarzenegger, Alan Keyes of Maryland, and Pat Buchanon of Virgina seeked the nomination appealing to conservatives as well.

Billionaire Ross Perot and Political activist Ralph Nader announced they would run as independants

NOTE: I will control all the Republican candidates so that I make sure there is a general election as this is supposed to be a chronicled storyline.

John MCcain was able to accomplish most of his campaign promises in 4 Years. The only issue was that the economy had seen a recession over the final year of his first term, the nation had also seen several terrorist attacks. And gotten into a costly war that hadnt returned any results. The budget had doubled because of the war, and to pay for it MCcain raised coporate taxes, which infuriated many business owners.

In 2004 The Republicans were worried that the Democrats running an anti-war campaign, and promising to lower the corporate tax. The only primary challenger Ron Paul was defeated easily making these promises which quickly stifled the Republicans worry.

The democrats nominated Former Vice president Al Gore to face MCcain in 2004...........

The McCain presidency started strong but was an overall disaster. His bad economic policies had led to massive tax hikes and massive spending increases due to the 3 terrorist attacks that happened during his presidency. George W Bush resigned shortly after the mid terms in 2006 when the democratic party took control of the house and senate. His resignation came mainly due to tax evasion scandal, and a potential sexual scandal with a former secretary while he was Governor of Texas. Fearing how that would make McCain look, he quietly resigned, unemployment was at 12% by 2007 when all the new Democrats took office, and with McCain ineligible to run again, and Vice President Bush declining to run for obvious reasons the field was wide open.

The Republican Primaries

With no clear front runner Secretary of State Condelezza Rice announced her candidacy for President. Before the spring of 2007 Sprung, Former governor Mitt Romney, and Former Mayor Rudi Giuliani had both made their splashes into the race too. Once Summer hit, things got messy, not knowing a ton about Rice, and afraid that Romney and Giuliani would be just like McCain, Conservatives lobbied for a bunch of candidates. Newt Gingrich and Mike Huckabee were the big ones that the conservatives in the party backed. While on other fronts Ron Paul made his announcement that he would try a third time for president. In August of 2007 George W Bush's brother Jeb announced his candidacy wanting to finish what McCain and Bush started which alarmed many of the Conservatives in the party prompting them to answer by lobbying Senator Brownback of Kansas, and Conservative actor Fred Thompson, as well as Duncan Hunter, and Bill First, turning the primary into a 3 ring circus of contenders.

Democratic primaries

With Hillary Clinton as the moderate Democratic front runner, the more liberal democrats wanted an answer, after all it was moderate candidates like McCain that got them into this mess. Freshman Senator Barack Obama announced his candidacy and seemed to fill the void for more of the more staunch liberals, but with allegations over Obama's birth certificate and a potential scandal over what his real name was still brewing, the farther left wing of the party turned to Al Gore, who jumped into the wide open democratic race, once again, in an answer to gore, his 2000 Rivals, John Kerry, Wesley Clark, and Bill Richardson, jumped into the wide open field quickly making it crowded. Dennis Kucinich also made an announcement int he summer months of 2007, while Chris Dodd and John edwards jumped in later that month. With Biden and other candidates still set up to announce it looked like the Democratic primaries would wind up just like the republicans....overcrowded.

After Obama made a bad situation worse and allowed the country to be attacked 7 times by terrorists in 2.5 years.....Even the Democrats were disenchanted with Obama, Hillary Clinton was the first Person to jump into the Presidential race in December of 2010. She wound up being the only Democratic challenger.

Mitt Romney announced his candidacy in f0r the 2012 elections in january of 2011. Several months passed, and disssatisfied with the Romney Campaign the conservative Christian interest groups Fielded Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania to run for President, he announced his candidacy in April 2011. A few Days later Newt ginrich who went bankrupted in 2008 (But did moderately well in the 2008 Primary) decided to try his luck again. In May rick Perry, John huntsman, Ron Paul and Michelle Bachman made a leap into the race, With Herman Cain and Tim Pawlenty expected to jump into the race it was once again a circus for the nomination.
