Cyberia Forever

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

So I resurrected Ken Kerns' old Cyberia Forever scenarios, including a few that I worked with him on that have not been released to the public (despite being finished in 2007-2008) such as the 2005, 2009, and 2013 elections.

Basically Ken conceived of the country as a "Caribbean Canada", with a white anglophone majority and a troublesome indigenous/non-white minority (instead of the francophone minority). It was based on an online micronation/political simulation he was a part of, but has long-since gone defunct. I'm finished with the 1997, 2001, and 2005 scenarios; and currently working on both 2009 and 2013. I may redo the Cyberland scenario (its rival).

Here are the parties in the scenarios:

Labor: social democratic party, governed Cyberia from 1992 to 2005; the major "centre-left/centrist" party post-independence

Conservative: conservative party, governed Cyberia from 2005 to present, the major "centre-right" party post-independence

Democrats: liberal party, also since independence, has fluctuated between the centre-left and centre

Freedom Party: left-wing populist party, supporting independence for the state of Felicia and increased rights for aboriginals, lasts from 1997 to 2003

Left Party: left-wing socialist party, emerges from the left-wing of the Labor Party, which exits the party after the government's decision to back the Iraq War; absorbs the Freedo Party as well. Lasts from 2003 to 2010.

Green Party: left-wing environmentalist party, replaces the Left Party in 2010

Action Front: former far-right party, turned right-wing protest party, has its best result in 2005 due to an expelled conservative MP leading it, falls apart soon after

ACT Party: more "mainstream" successor to the Action Front, runs in 2009 but fails to win a seat, may win a seat or two in 2013 due to the Conservatives' switch on same-sex marriage.
