An Idea for a historical gubernatorial scenario

Recommended Posts

I thought maybe Mississippi 1991, one of few actually competitve Mississippi general elections for governor, where Republican Kirk Fordice, a construction company president running for his first public office, beat Democratic incumbant Ray Mabus in a tight race to become the first GOP governor of the state since Reconstruction. There was also a significant Indeepndent named Shawn O'Hara on the ballot. Unfortunately, I can't find much info on the county-by-county breakdown of the vote or the primaries, and there's no Wikipedia article on the election, and I don't know if there's a Mississippi map out there, so if anyone can offer any help, it'd be appreciated.
