Just because thats what he wants to do doesn't mean he can do it. In every early debate minus the ones when Perry was leading, Romney has been debating under the assumption that he was the inevitable nominee and didn't want to rock the boat. Monday we began to see signs of his realization that it wasn't over yet and he started to go after Newt. Newt let that happen because he felt he was in the same position Romney felt he was in earlier on. As you said, Newt is incredibly arrogant, and with his win in SC and his lead in Florida be probably felt he was the inevitable nominee (which of course is ridiculous). Therefore he was a lot more reserved in his attacks against Romney. If he feels things have changed since Monday (which they have) he will be more aggressive against Romney. Because I believe he is a superior debater to Romney, he will be able to impose his will and put Romney on the defensive IF he wants to.

Romney had the right debate strategy and is the surperior at debating because he allowed the anti-Romney candidates destroy each other during the debates, when the anti-Romney candidate finally emerged, Romney crushed him. It may play out differently tonight, but to Romney is not the surperior in debating is false.

Also, Santorum and Paul are probably both going to see this as their BIG CHANCE to pick up Gingrich voters. They'll be launching attacks on Gingrich. Gingrich will be under fire tonight.

Knowing Newt... he never knows what's going on until its too late. He didn't realize he was killing his party in 1995... when he woke up, the damage was too deep to heal. Same thing earlier in the primaries... he neverrealized he was being smashed by the other candidates. He called the attacks "baloney", yet never realized that they were indeed working until his polls were below 20%.

Yes thats true. I'm just saying he has the potential to do so because of his debating skill. Its very possible that his arrogance will get the best of him tonight and he won't go after Romney like he needs to.

Romney is going to win Florida. There are no more debates, the tax returns are in, and Santorum and Paul did enough damage on Gingrich to hold down Newt.

So onwards to more favorable Romney states!

If Romney wins Florida, then that means the following...

1.) Gingrich has to restart at level 1 to regain momentum.

2.) Gingrich has to re-raise the money he spent in South Carolina and Florida... he poured greenbacks all over those states

3.) Romney will have the big mo'

4.) The idea that Romney is the "presumptive nominee" will set in and Mitt will pick up alot of support.

If Romney wins Florida and runs the table to Super Tuesday, he will be definitely be the "presumptive nominee". Carrying possible 48 out of 50 states in a record for an non-incumbent in a Republican Presidential Primary. Then Vice-President George Bush carryed 41 out of 50 states in 1988 and you could agrue that he was a "semi-incumbent" because he was Vice-President.
