Tony,

Quick feedback, but the reflective-looking icons are giving me a headache and can get a bit blurry. Could you at least slip in a set that are straight checks and X-es like are in P4E and PM4E?

Edit: Another thing: Could you enable sorting House Seats by R+ and D+ separately? i.e. Positive to negative, not just absolute values?

Edit 2: Got the same error message.

In specific on September 7th it's giving me this message:

Access Violation at Address 0048313B in module 'congress4e.exe'. Read of address 00000004

Me too!!!

When i try something the september 6th i have this message.

And if i do nothing and i pass to septembre 7th, i have the same message or the message ''List indez out of bonds (0)''.

Can you say a bit more about this?

I'm crashing in September also.

And I'd like to second Taft's comment on sorting. I can understand putting the most important information at the top (which the current version accomplishes), but it winds up kind of jumbled using absolute values, and sorting from strong D through toss-up to strong R should be an option as well (even though finding the most important info will mean scrolling to the middle of the list).

I'd add that being able to identify who currently holds the seat (whether it's an incumbent running for reelection or an open seat) could be helpful information too, so we can know how much is spent on offense vs. defense. Maybe an extra blue or red dot?

Lastly, I'm having trouble figuring out how to raise money. $35 million is nothing to sneeze at, of course, but those ads are expensive.

I know this is only a beta, and I've only even started two games, but it looks like a winner so far. It certainly seems to be as close to capturing the challenges of running one of the CC's as P4E is at capturing the challenges of running an individual campaign. I see great potential here.

Well, yes. It's a Beta.

But this will be an absolute winner! Micromanaging the last detail ... I like it. :D

However, several things:

1st: I seem to get such access violation messages randomly. Sometimes when I want to create an ad, sometimes when I want to klick on my crusader screen.

2nd: Aren't 8 CPs a bit low? I mean, you basically have to 435 races. Creating ads, ground ops, some research, crusadre recruiting. That's quite much. 8 CPs are nothing if you want to target several districts/turn while maybye recruiting a crusader.

I am agree with that. ;)

"I'm having trouble figuring out how to raise money."

Fundraising isn't enabled at this point - thanks for pointing this out, as the message at the beginning says "can fundraise unlimited amounts" which is obviously not right for the current version of the Beta. :)

September bug fixed. You can re-download with the same link.

You will know you have installed the latest version because it says "v. 1.0.9" on the start screen.

Awesome. Thanks for the quick bug-fix.

Another thing:

Why does it take one CP to add a seat to the watch list?

That adds to the low-CP "problem".

The "reflective" look on the icons makes it a bit hard to tell what some of them represent because of the white shading involved. I know it looks sleek, but it mucks up the ability to clearly tell what each icon does/stands for.

But you'll get used to them once you've played the game more often.

I've just managed to go bankrupt as the DCCC. :D

Two words: Love it.

At October 21th, i have some problem, that not stop the game but it is very harassing. First, the same message ''Access Violation at Address 0048313B in module 'congress4e.exe'. Read of address 00000004''. Second, i have a french message (i run on french version of Windows XP) ''Espace insuffisant pour traiter cette commande'' (traduction : Not enough space for this command). Anybody have the same problem!?

I don't know if this is because is a beta version or the election night it is not finish, but at novembre 4th, when i finish the turn of Republican, the system ''said'' ''List index out of bound''.

Played until election night and the game crashed. But you've already said that electiong night is not completed - so no harm done.

Although it would have been nice to see ... I managed to get 202 projected seats as the GOP. It was virtually a tie between the Dems and me.

But maybye we could get a beta where you actually can save and load games? Or will we have to wait for the release version.

I'm having trouble getting too far into the game because I appear to be spending $4-5 million each turn, but I don't think I actually am. It seems like local ads that I only run in a single district at $200,000/turn get charged as their national $2mil/turn ads. That, or I just can't figure out why I'm spending so much each turn (my watch list only had about eight races on it).
