    Walter Cronkite is coming out of retirement announced as moderator for the first democratic debate. Democratic moral has boosted with it's party's unity. Republican Party at this point seems divided. It is unknown of more candidates are to join the campaign.

    October 1st 1987 President Reagan was watching the evening news. He watched as candidates all announced bids to replace him in 15 months. He began to think to himself, who had his support? There was Pat Robertson, the evangelical pastor who had close ties to people that had helped Reagan win the entire south, a former Democratic stronghold. Then there was Bob Dole, who had experience in the senate so he had a steady relationship with the Republican leadership. There was Harold Stassen, who even back when he was a Democrat, Reagan could see himself voting for. What of his own Vice President? Reagan did not have much of a liking to Bush at first, but he had been a loyal ally the past seven years, even during Iran Contra...
