I'll have to decline. I'm going to be working on a scenario where I'll be pretty occupied. Thank you for the invite. I'll be sure to observe and see where it goes.

To an observers: Starting today (Monday) at 10pmEST, we will start an experiment. For this week, and hopefully onward, every player wlll be online to play at 10pm every day and we will play for a solid hour on each of these days. We will take the day off any day two players report that they cannot make it. Players absent may allow me or a faction ally play for them. The goal is that if we are all online at the same, the game may be more efficient. Additionally it will be easier for people to play their action cards at appropriate times, among other benefits I can see under a system in which we are all playing at the same time. It is possible that our daily hour may move every so often to meet the best time for the most players. Obviously, in the event that I’m absent, the game will have to be canceled for that day unless it’s a part of the game that doesn’t really require me (the elections, for example). I look forward to this experiment.

@Leuser Excel sheet is updated. Are you planning to propose any taxes or adding/repealing any tariffs? Or is this the end of your (first?) term?

I will be focusing on personal projects for a while including scenario creation, so I politely decline the invitation.

Same, even though I only have one kid. Can't tell the difference between her and our two cats, apparently.

Same thing happens with my kids, I haven't called any of them the same name twice in a row for months!

Yep. Postmaster General isn’t a political office though, so I’ll assume C Pinckney as written unless @Leuser states otherwise.

I noticed this too.... But C Pinckney isn't conservative so..... I didn't know what to say to who

At least part of my success in having a reasonably fast level of response from all of my players is that I know them in real life and can ping them outside of the forum when it’s their turn to move. They still have their lives of course (and I have mine) so responses can’t be immediate, but it’s been a good way to keep things flowing. That said, while I know all of them offline, most of them have never met each other. So the fact they’ve vibed together this well this quickly as players has been little more than dumb luck on my part that the chemistry works. ;c)
  15. As I sign out for the night, I wish you all a Happy Easter, Passover, Mid-Shab'an, Ridvan, and Grounation Day (which converge - or one of it's days, in the case of Passover and Ridvan, today).

Take a look at Actinguy's Founding Fathers thread. Do you think that you can contribute in the same vein as many of the replies there as far as RPing and general level of activity? Have you done any RPs on the forum before extensively? I think I tagged you because of your activity on the New Historical RP.

Actually, that’s my fault. I think @Leuser was offering the position to C Pinckney, not CC Pinckney.

I have looked it up - and had it's definition linked at me when I made a similar statement to someone in a very similar context on another forum entirely. I am still not convinced, from my personal experiences with how I seen the term used in practice, that I am incorrect in my beliefs.

I really need to stop responding to you Patine, it's not good for either of our healths, but I do encourage you to better look up the term strawman and properly add it to your vocabulary as it is a very real thing regarding debate and discourse.

You know, the term "strawman," which has only seen significant use on the Internet in the last less than a decade, is really just becoming a cowardly shield for those who've said something quite bold, been called on it, can't back it up or defend it, and rather than admit such, or even gracefully leave the argument, use the "strawman" term as a cop-out to end the argument while making an attempt at appearing to have made no error, faux-pa, slip, or misspeak. I have yet to see a case of the use of the ubiquitous (and obnoxious) "strawman" on the Internet (including your uses of it) that make me feel my belief here is incorrect. May the Wizard of Oz give all the "strawmen" brains!

No, you really didn't, you just launched on a tirade strawmanning the free market. I think it would be good for your heart rate and my tylenol supply if we didn't get into a knockdown dragout scrap on the day of Christ's Resurrection.

Well, @Reagan04, I have, just above, responded to and rebutted your "solution" to the issue in contention without resorting to personal attacks or religious denunciations. I await your response.

Yeah, it is odd that Van Buren would be forced to retire, considering how young he is when retirement is forced upon him. If I ever GM again, I'll probably add a bunch of "exception rules."
